We are Jay and Dan Riordan, brothers and second-generation home builders with a lifetime of experience. Built upon the legacy of our father’s esteemed custom home building business, our company carries forward his dedication to excellence, high standards and an unwavering commitment to our clients. We’re known for mixing old-world craftsmanship with new-world design to create exceptional living spaces that reflect the unique tastes and lifestyles of our clients.
Jay Riordan
Whether meeting with potential clients or checking out the latest design trends, you’ll find this Riordan Signature Homes co-owner and head of development with a stack of blueprints in his arms and measuring tape in hands. Jay’s passion for building homes began as a child when he’d tag along with his father to various job sites and continued after graduation from Illinois State University where he leveraged his industry knowledge working at Hilti Corporation. Armed with understanding of the latest technology in construction, Jay pursued a post-graduate degree from DePaul’s Driehaus College of Business and began the transition of his father’s company.
In 2014, with much success as a general contractor, “Jay the General” emerged as a finalist and fan-favorite on NBC’s American Dream Builders, a reality show and high-stakes competition where top designers and builders showcased their talent and expertise.
Dan Riordan
As co-owner and head of operations at Riordan Signature Homes, Dan is the driving force behind our efficient and effective operations. A task master with a keen eye for detail and a relentless commitment to deadlines, Dan gets it done. He spends his days in the field doing everything from problem solving with homeowners to scrutinizing quality with contractors and vendors. He doesn’t miss a detail – a skill mastered while working many years on job sites with his father. After graduating from DePaul University, Dan partnered with his brother to take their father’s home building company to the next level. His extensive industry knowledge and hands-on approach ensure that every project exceeds expectations.

Our portfolio encompasses a diverse range of architectural styles, including Nantucket, Tudor, Cape Cod, Tuscan, Italianate and Dutch. With a keen eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality, we deliver high-quality spaces that are completed on time and within budget. Our specialty lies in traditional craftsmanship, featuring high ceilings, custom millwork, and high-end finishings throughout.

Based in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, our reach extends to communities such as Western Springs, Hinsdale, Elmhurst, and Downers Grove. Additionally, we proudly serve clients in Southwest Florida, including Bonita Springs, Naples, and Estero.
